Almost Everyone loves a good writing prompt, but sometimes there are just too few of them. Think you don't have what it takes? No worries, this prompt is just for you. This is legitimately serious.

Take any given character that you have and put them at dinner with their family. Regardless of what their family is like. Just see what happens. Sometimes human beings are their fundamental selves only at a dinner table. Try it, I dare you.

Step One: Pick Up a book

Step Two: Put said book down

Step Three: Pick said book back up

Step Four: Turn said book to page 48

Step Five: Read the last sentence.

Step Six: Using this as a prompt, write a story.

It is easy as long as you follow the steps exactly. 

5 Original Sentence: With Arrows

1. Design an arrow made of cheese, shoot my sandwich from a distance, please.

2. If the sun were the moon, and the moon were the sun, I'd be having more fun, after the strike of one.

3. The hot air balloon goblins, knew that they could switch the sun with the moon, but as long as no human was awake, there would be no proof in the sky, but  tiny arrow, captioned goodbye.

4. Once the the hot hair balloons, with faces of cats who needed to sneeze, invaded over Cleveland, those people thought they could shoot it down, not with a cannon, but with a bow and arrow.

5. One brave hero, name Cream Cheese Arrow, got into his banana time bubble of stuff, and he decided with a cheddar arrow, that enough was enough.

Devolving Devil

     You could have taken the Devil's deal, but she looked more like a Devlin. She didn't have the red tinge and long sharp horns of a Devil. She looked more like the younger sister to the Devil. At least that was what you thought. You pressed the pen back to Devlin.
     "I change my mind," Devlin said. "I don't want to give you a deal." Devlin took her contract back, and as she walked away you thought that she had changed. Instead of the fearsome Devil who walked up to your register looked like a little girl. Another customer walked up to your register.
    "That was strange. What did the piece of paper that girl put up there say on it?" The customer asked. Devlin turned about looking even smaller and younger, and you began to shrink into a frog.
    "Oops. Seem to have accidentally granted a wish you had a few years ago. Good luck in the long jump." She laughed and continued through a wall. Now, you are a frog, which I guess isn't as bad as going to hell for taking a deal from the Devil, so there's that.

Writing Exercise! The perfect one.

Anyone can write, I think that is true. If you have a pen, at least one hand, and paper, you can write. Except not everyone writes, but why? The reason is that some people don't think they can, or they get so far and they give up.

This exercise is to send that feeling about giving up to givingupsville.

What you need to do:

Write. This exercise is that simple. Just keep writing. Write for a specific amount of time for a week. Don't stop, even if you have to writ e nonsense blog. Eventually, you will write something worthwhile.

Looking through the Looking Glass: Exercise

My exercises usually are non traditional. This one is going to be strange as well. I've heard the write a letter to hour character, or from one character to another idea, and I don't like it. Instead to flush out a characters fears and motivations, write a letter from them to you as if they just found out that they were imaginary. Do they feel bad? Betrayed? I'm sure they are upset that they were put through a particular thing or that they weren't, and that's your fault.
